Dan Carabas, renowned for his multidisciplinary art project METAMORPHIC SCULPTURES, is an experienced Shibari artist and instructor who has been working with ropes in an aesthetic and expressive manner for over a decade. Based in Berlin, he founded SHIBARI STUDIO BERLIN in 2024, where he began teaching what he describes as "the art of Shibari with intention." This focused practice emphasizes tying one’s partner in an intimate and sensual way, fostering a deep connection and meaningful communication through the ropes.

Born in Romania, Dan moved with his family to Germany during the 1989 revolution. His journey into photography began at the age of 14, inspired by an old analog camera belonging to his father. In 2008, he launched his career as a fashion and beauty photographer in Paris, developing a signature style defined by a high-end aesthetic. Over a 15-year career as a photographer and later as a commercial film director, he created numerous editorials for international publications such as VOGUE, GQ, HARPER'S BAZAAR, and ELLE, among others. Additionally, he worked on campaigns and commercials for globally recognized brands like GIORGIO ARMANI, RALPH LAUREN, MERCEDES-BENZ, LOUIS VUITTON, THE BODY SHOP, and UNIVERSAL MUSIC.

Dan's fine art has been showcased in prestigious venues such as the KUNSTHALLE WIEN and the ESSL Museum, with solo exhibitions at GALERIE DURET in Paris and Brussels. His work has also been featured multiple times in the renowned book series BLICKFANG - Germany’s Best Photographers.

In October 2022, Dan Carabas unveiled his most ambitious artistic project to date: METAMORPHIC SCULPTURES, an immersive art experience combining analog and digital artworks. The exhibition captivated an international audience at the historic Kühlhaus Berlin, a 1,700 m² space. This was followed by his solo exhibition The METAMORPHS - Transcending from Metamorphic Sculptures at the UNPAIRED Gallery in Zug, Switzerland, which ran from February to March 2023, among other showcases.
