The Charitable Foundation Stiftung Kunstdepot invites artists from all over the world into the heart of Switzerland. The founder and art collector Christoph Hürlimann met Dan Carabas at his solo exhibition at unpaired gallery in Zug and invited him to join the foundation’s artist in residence program for a duration of one month in August 2023.
Followed by a multimedia exhibition on August 27, where Dan Carabas presented his new painterly works together with his animations and photographs of METAMORPHIC SCULPTURES.
Focusing on form, color and texture, the paintings bring new perspectives to the topic of transformation and dissolution.
They continue to explore the tensions between the figurative and the abstract through rough sketches of figures and body parts that are carved out of the canvas, brushstroke by brushstroke.
